Chief Client Officer — Media Agency, Tokyo
ROLE OVERVIEW
A landmark appointment at one of Japan's most progressive media agencies, the Chief Client Officer will sit at the heart of the business — driving client growth, shaping commercial strategy and elevating the standard of client partnership across all accounts. This role is both strategic and operational: the CCO will lead from the front on major client relationships while ensuring the client service function is built for scale. Fluency in Japanese and a strong network in the Tokyo market are essential.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Own the agency's client revenue — setting growth targets, identifying expansion opportunities and leading retention across the portfolio
• Serve as the senior relationship holder on the agency's most important accounts
• Lead, mentor and develop the client service and account management teams
• Partner closely with the CEO and senior leadership to align client strategy with agency ambitions
• Champion integrated thinking across media, data, content and technology disciplines
• Build the agency's reputation as the most client-centric media partner in the Japan market
CANDIDATE PROFILE
A highly regarded senior leader with deep media agency experience and a strong personal network in the Tokyo and Japan market. Fluency in Japanese is essential, as is a proven track record of leading and growing significant client relationships at a senior level. You will bring a combination of commercial acumen, relationship-building excellence and a genuine passion for media and marketing effectiveness. Experience in regional or multi-market roles would be advantageous.
